Benji Boko wants Gorillaz collaboration - Female First

debut album, 'Beats, Treats, and all things Alone' in June - the dance musician is running on his ultimate musical goal of collaborating with the musician, wjho is a member of both Gorillaz and Blur.

He said: "I'd love to play with Damon Albarn and the Gorillaz - I haven't approached any of them yet because I'm not in a place for them to need to do that with me. I recognize that I'm not ready. Since then I've been running on bits and bobs with him and we're hopefully doing a few more collaborations and remixes so it's all good.

"I want to get a good remix and a very good album arsenal under my belt before I can do that because at the instant it feels like I don't take enough ammo. I want to get more ammunition and then I'll be in a place to get to those people but I definitely set my goals high and if Damon is reading - he needs to get in touch!"

The manufacturer has previously collaborated with a chain of artists including Roots Manuva, Beardyman and Deuce Eclipse - but he counts his biggest accomplishment to see as getting vocalist Maxi Jazz from Faithless on his single 'Where My Heart Is'.

He added: "I wasn't star struck by Maxi. He's such a decent and normal guy so that made it easy. We just hung out for the day in the studio and went to follow the expression one in Brighton - then went back to the studio and recorded before he drove back up to London.

"Since then I've been running on bits and bobs with him and we're hopefully doing a few more collaborations and remixes so it's all good."

Benji's debut album 'Beats Treats and All Things Unique' is out now.

Little Dragon Issue 'Ritual Union' After Gorillaz, Raphael Saadiq .

SBTRKT`s "Wildfire," a song that lit up the Internet and spread awareness of the band (and of SBTRKT) when rapper Drake jumped on the path to trade his own remix in June. But lately, Little Dragon has been drawing major media attention in the United States all on its own. In may, Little Dragon`s new song, "Ritual Union" was included in Esquire`s "30 Summer Songs every Man should Listen To," and later that month, the group appeared on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon." (?uestlove, leader of the "Fallon" house band the Roots, is a noted Little Dragon fan. On July 26, Little Dragon released "Ritual Union," its third full-length and second stateside release on Peacefrog Records. The album was recorded during the bridge of two days at the band`s own studio in Gothenburg, Sweden, with a range of rotating equipment.

"Our studio is sort of scrappy," says Bodin, who also served as the album`s producer. "Most of the songs started with drums that had been recorded, and then me and Yukimi would make a song around the drums with a bassline and she would do a melody. On some songs, like `When I Go out,` that`s more Hk and his little trip into voice processors."

Little Dragon Preps new Album After Gorillaz Tour

The album is woozy, yet emphatic, as heard on the single "Nightlight" as good as on "Make a Dream," which sounds like it could soundtrack an installment of "Miami Vice." though often considered an indie rock band, Little Dragon`s music is more frequently a coagulation of electronic dreamscapes with lush R&B-tinged vocals that get to mind Erykah Badu or Portishead. "They`re a music lover`s favorite band," says Heathcliff Berru, Little Dragon`s U.S. co-manager. "Not many people, up until recently, have been reading about them, but I went on tour with them back in April of 2010 and they sold out most of that tour." Little Dragon will hit the route in United States in August and journey through Australia and Europe in the fall. "For this album, there are some people behind us helping to drive out to the media. [Until now] it`s been playing live and marketing our CDs ourselves after the shows," Bodin says. "But this time I suppose they realized we came quite a bit by ourselves and they wanna join in."

What Are You Listening To?

What Are You Listening To?
Three New Yorkers take off their headphones and chat.
ByAustin Duerst

Jon, 28

What were you listening to when I came up to you just now?
I was really listening to NPR's iPhone apps - the sound portions of their articles. But walking up here, I was listening to my traditional-ska Pandora station.

Who are your go-to ska bands?

Gorillaz: 'The Light' Review - Indie Music Reviews - Indie Music .

Artist: Gorillaz
Album: The Fall
Label: Parlophone

600px The Fall Gorillaz album cover 400x400 Gorillaz: The Fall Review

Released on gorillaz.com on Christmas Day 2010, The Fall could be the biggest free album release aside from Radiohead`s In Rainbows. The biggest difference betwixt the two being that The Fall is only a dog away, for free, and the ingredient of guilt ("pay what you suppose it`s worth") brought at least a pair of million dollars for Radiohead.
