Josh's Bloggamathing: Gorillaz: Fan Rant

Gorillaz: Fan Rant
People, (By which I mean YouTube comment posters and my sister, .Nouns barely classed as "People") Have been talking and complaining about how the "New Gorillaz" is dissimilar from the "Old Gorillaz". I have news for you, folks: Gorillaz is a project, not a band. I have been a fan since 1999, my firstfavouriteband and even up there.

I admit now, I didn't recognize who was behind Gorillaz, but I saw Jamie Hewlett's animations on music videos, and as a Kid, I was worn to animations. (No pun intended) I liked the music, too; It was near to sing along to. I didn't get the self titled album until a couple years afterwards. My second album ever I suppose it was (First being AC/DC - Highway To Sin and third being The Darkness - One Way Ticket To Hell. And Back). It was the 1st ever issue from the Gorillaz and it's surpassed the trial of time. Some songs are singles, that's for sure, but there are about very experimental tracks on there. Inspired by the album, I researched. But I found very small to who or what was behind Gorillaz. Although, that was like 6-8 YEARS ago. A couple years run and I see the Gorillaz in the chart again with a new single (Dare). I get the album around Christmas and I just. no language can trace the Demon Days album. It has to be number 1 in my Desert Island Disks because it moves you. I was. young but I was still empowered by thiswondrousmass of interference that was this album. I was hooked I researched more but to see that Blur frontman Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett are behind Gorillaz. 2 guys?! Wow. I bought DVD's, Posters, singles and recorded TV appearances; anything Gorillaz shaped I could get my hands on. At this time Gorillaz were one of Britains most popular bands. This was their full mainstream breakthrough. What they would call: Phase 2: Slowboat to Hades. And the disappearanceof animated bandmate "Noodle". This, and Phase 1 is what said "People" relate to as "Old Gorillaz". In 2010 Gorillaz initiated Phase 3: Plastic Beach. Plastic Beach is the newest Gorillaz album and I give to say, the most obscure. But there is a message behind it. The full album conveys a substance of recycling and global warming. (Shown heavily in the song "White Flag") Because of it's non-mainstream music style, "People" have said Gorillaz have changed. Gorillaz is a project, it's 2 guys doing whatever the love they wanna do and it ever has been. And if the mainstream likes it? Bonus points. If not, Suck it. Research first. Gorillaz is an experimental project not a Pop band. This is all but one die hard fanboy's view on Gorillaz, to have for yourself, listen to an album. -JoshFace

  1. This is my content from my blog, taken, edited and reposted with horrible spacing and a lack or grammar.

I have no idea why there is a fred video at the bottom and it certainly has nothing to do with me.

I would like this post taken down, if it all possible.
